Larimer Board of County Commissioners Meeting

Larimer Alliance calls for urgent feedback to County Commissioners about pending vote on Oil & Gas Regulations in Larimer County!

The Larimer Board of County Commissioners will be holding a rescheduled hearing on the final draft of proposed Oil & Gas Regulations revising the county Land Use Code. The hearing will take place at 6:30 PM on Monday, April 6 via live stream. Public comment can occur via phone call or written comment, by signing up here: https://forms.logiforms.com/formdata/user_forms/74846_2296047/376552/pag....

THE LARIMER ALLIANCE URGES CITIZENS TO SUBMIT THEIR WRITTEN COMMENTS ON THESE WHOLLY INADEQUATE REGULATIONS A.S.A.P., NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, APRIL 3!

It is critical to submit written comments by Friday to allow time for the County Commissioners to read them prior to the hearing. Email the Commissioners here, and also email Matt Lafferty at the Planning Department at laffermn@co.larimer.co.us.

County officials confirmed you are allowed to also submit a written comment on that link even if you are going to comment by phone. They emphasized it is best to get it in by April 3 for review by the commissioners, but it will still be part of the public record if received later.

The Larimer Alliance has detailed comments on the proposed regulations found here: https://sites.google.com/view/larimeralliance/resources/the-bocc-page/hi....

There are many points to emphasize, but in particular we do support the County's current stance in which each well application undergoes Special Review. We object to any option for an Administrative Review process, which allows no public comment. The Alliance also supports the public having “standing” to voice concerns about noise, dust, etc. We object to industry requests that only people living within 500 feet of any proposed O&G site have “standing” to protest the permit.
