PRPA Community Listening Session on Future Sources of Electricity – October 24th, 2019

Encourage our generating utility to move quickly toward providing us with 100% non-carbon electricity!

In December 2018, the Platte River Power Authority (PRPA) Board set a goal of achieving a 100% “non-carbon” resource mix for the electricity it provides to Fort Collins, Loveland, Longmont, and Estes Park by 2030. Non-carbon resources include wind, solar, and hydro, with storage technologies such as utility-scale batteries providing back-up.

This October, the PRPA will be holding a series of “Listening Sessions” in its four owner communities to talk about the progress it has made toward planning for achieving its 100% non-carbon goal. The Fort Collins Sustainability Group encourages people to attend the Listening Session that will be held in Fort Collins. Here are the details:
