Transitioning to Utility-Scale Wind and Solar Through Grassroots Advocacy

Join Sierra Club Beyond Coal Colorado, Transition US, Renewables Now Loveland, and Transition Fort Collins for an exciting webinar presentation on how four northern Colorado towns--Fort Collins, Loveland, Longmont, & Estes Park--organized their communities to achieve municipal 100% renewable energy goals.

About the webinar:
A coal-fired power plant on the High Plains of Colorado is owned by four Northern Colorado cities. Residents of these four cities and a Sierra Club organizer have come together with other groups to form a grassroots coalition that successfully lobbied their city councils and their co-owned utility to adopt city & utility-wide clean energy goals. Hear about one city’s journey to move towards a 100% renewable energy future and how they have made progress despite challenges in their community. Learn about how the Sierra Club supports communities to move "Beyond Coal" and get to a clean energy future. Glean key strategies, tactics, & takeaways about their progress so far, and hear about the work still to come to ensure a clean energy future for northern Colorado.
